This study examines the intersection between autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the Brazilian Inclusion Law (LBI), analyzing the guarantees offered and the obstacles faced in the effective implementation of these policies. The main objective was to identify how the LBI addresses the specific needs of people with autism and to evaluate the effectiveness of its practical application. The methodology employed consisted of a comprehensive literature review, using a qualitative approach to examine recent studies, relevant legislation, and practical cases. The results indicated that, although the LBI represents a significant advance in the rights of people with disabilities, including those with ASD, challenges persist in its implementation, especially regarding inclusive education and insertion in the labor market. The research revealed gaps between legal guarantees and the reality experienced by individuals with autism, highlighting the need for more specific policies and concrete actions. The discussion addressed the implications of these findings for policy makers, educators, and health professionals. It was concluded that, despite legislative advances, it is crucial to develop more effective strategies for the full inclusion of people with ASD, considering their particularities and individual needs.
