Botanical blindness reflects the difficulty in recognizing the importance of plants in daily life and in ecological balance, aggravated by urbanization and the modern lifestyle. Essential for life, plants are often neglected, highlighting the need to raise awareness of their value as living beings that are fundamental to biodiversity and quality of life. Promoting educational practices that encourage contact with nature is crucial to reversing this distance. The general objective of this study is to address botanical blindness, discussing its causes, consequences, and possible strategies to overcome it. This study is characterized as bibliographic research, developed from the analysis of books, scientific articles, and relevant academic materials on the subject of botanical blindness. Thus, overcoming botanical blindness is more than an educational challenge; it is a necessity for sustainability and for the formation of a society that is more aware and connected with the natural environment. Recognizing plants as fundamental beings for the maintenance of life is essential to face the ecological and climate challenges of the present and the future.
