This article aims to highlight the role of the neuropsychopedagogue in the context of inclusive education, as a key element in the identification and diagnosis of students with special educational needs. Neuropsychopedagogy aims to seek an understanding of brain functions for the learning process, with a view to rehabilitating and preventing any problems detected in individuals. Thus, through this study it will be possible to understand the need to seek, through this research, subsidies to improve the screening work in special education. Therefore, this research aims to analyze and discuss the role of neuropsychopedagogy in the teaching and learning process in Basic Education, thus highlighting the importance of the role of the neuropsychopedagogue in the educational field, in order to promote efficient pedagogical practices and early diagnosis, thus taking into account the difficulties of each student. The methodology used was a bibliographic research with a qualitative approach, exploring the scientific literature, through academic-scientific books, scientific articles, theses, etc. Finally, given the context, at the end of the research, the importance of the neuropsychopedagogue in the teaching/learning of students became evident, and the role of this professional in inclusive education is essential.
