This article investigates the importance of nurses in health education, emphasizing their role in the prevention and control of this disease. Acting as educators, nurses play crucial roles in disseminating information about risk factors such as HPV infections, lifestyle habits, and the importance of regular Pap smear exams. The research was based on an integrative review, alongside an analysis of nursing practices in awareness campaigns. Ten articles published between 2019 and 2024 were evaluated, focusing on cervical cancer prevention. Health education was identified as crucial to increasing adherence to Pap smears and reducing cervical cancer mortality, particularly in vulnerable areas. Nurses play a key role as change agents. It is concluded that the nurse’s role in health education is essential for controlling cervical cancer, as it empowers women to make informed decisions about their health. Ongoing professional training is necessary to ensure nurses are prepared to address the challenges of health education and contribute to improving the quality of life for women in their communities.
