NURSES' ROLE IN HEALTH PROMOTION AND PREVENTION OF ADOLESCENT PREGNANCY IN PRIMARY CARE

This article sought to analyze the role of nurses in health promotion and prevention of teenage pregnancy in primary care. This is a literature review of scientific production with an exploratory qualitative approach. This study analyzes the actions of nurses in primary care, highlighting preventive and educational strategies aimed at adolescent health and the prevention of teenage pregnancy, categorized into two main categories: “The Role of Nurses in Primary Care: Health Promotion and Prevention of Teenage Pregnancy” and “Nurses' Guidelines for the Prevention of Early Pregnancy among Adolescents”. It is concluded that the role of nurses in health promotion and prevention of teenage pregnancy in primary care is essential for the development of healthy and conscious youth. Through appropriate guidance, these professionals can positively impact adolescents' decisions, providing relevant information on sexual health, contraceptive methods and the importance of healthy relationships, in addition to addressing emotional issues that permeate adolescence.
