This article sought describe the importance of nursing care in the use of non-pharmacological pain relief methods in the delivery room. Methodology: This is a bibliographic review study of scientific production with an exploratory qualitative approach. Results and discussion: Additionally, nurses are crucial in humanizing not only non-pharmacological practices for pain relief but also in offering emotional support and information, creating a welcoming environment and reinforcing the autonomy of parturients, making childbirth more centered on the patient’s experience. The absence of clear guidelines for the application of these methods hinders hospital practices, highlighting the need for more studies and regulations. Considerations: The autonomy of women in the childbirth process, respecting their choices and preferences, is a fundamental right that must be ensured by the healthcare team, with obstetric nurses playing a crucial role in minimizing pain and promoting a more humanized childbirth. The implementation of practices based on scientific evidence demonstrates a promising path for the evolution of nursing care.
