Soy protein stands out as a relevant alternative for muscle hypertrophy, as it provides essential nutrients, including high-quality proteins and amino acids, such as BCAAs (leucine, isoleucine and valine). This article investigates the benefits of soy protein consumption in the process of muscle hypertrophy. The objectives include analyzing the nutritional composition of soy protein, exploring its historical origin in China and its evolution as a central economic component in Brazil, in addition to describing the three main types of proteins derived from soy: isolate, concentrate and textured. The research was carried out through a literature review, using articles, specialized journals and pertinent academic publications. The results indicate that soy protein is an effective and affordable alternative, suitable both as a complement and as a substitute for animal protein for those seeking to gain muscle mass.
