This study approach the reduction of setup time in a bearing manufacturing company using the DMAIC methodology. Knowing that setup time is quality-defined, as exceeding it requires studies to identify its root cause and eliminate it to meet the production plan. However, the aim of this work is to study the main reasons that caused the increase in setup time for a grinding line, leading to the failure to meet the production plan. The DMAIC method was chosen, along with quality tools such as Pareto diagram, cause-and-effect diagram, and setup execution plan. The results showed that with the execution plan, setup time decreased and reached the expected level, not exceeding the time established by the company's quality standard. It was concluded that the action plans were effective and generated positive results compared to the previous scenario.
