Abstract

The case study explains the implementation of Kaizen in the process of polishing truck cabs. The application of quality tools, such as PDCA, Brainstorming and Data Collection, resulted in a reduction in work times and the material used, in addition to increased productivity. The analysis showed that Kaizen philosophy not only decreased costs and optimized jobs, but also significantly reduced employee movement. The methodology used included chronoanalysis and spaghetti diagram, which helped to identify and eliminate waste. The study concludes that continuous improvement is essential to maintain competitiveness in the market.
