This article addresses the importance of the Electronic Citizen Record (PEC) in the work process of the nursing team in Family Health Units (USF). The main objective is to discuss how PEC influences the quality of care provided, identify its benefits and challenges, and analyze its impact on the management and coordination among health team members. The research was conducted through a qualitative and descriptive literature review. The results indicate that PEC improves record accuracy, facilitates access to information, and promotes continuity of care, contributing to the safety and efficiency of work processes. However, challenges such as resistance to adopting the system and the need for continuous training remain obstacles to its full implementation. It is concluded that PEC is a crucial tool for modernizing healthcare in USFs, with the potential to improve care quality and optimize resource management.
