POSSIBILIDADES E DESAFIOS: A HISTÓRIA DO TRABALHO NO BRASIL CONTEMPORÂNEO NA PERSPECTIVA DO TEMPO PRESENTE (1990-2000)

Abstract

This essay tries to make some considerations about the transformation in the worlds of work in Brazil, an expression that accompanies the movement of capitalism in its neoliberal aspect. In the country, it was in the 1990s that these effects began to emerge, the decade was marked by high unemployment, insecurity of the posts generated, and in reaction to the mobilization of unions to avoid the loss of rights guaranteed. One of the objectives of this study is to propose a history of work from a theoretical and methodological perspective of the History of Present Time. It is understood that the analysis of labor relations arising from neoliberal hegemony becomes more complex. At present it is not possible to perceive the links, the agency, the political action, the strategies and networks of sociability constituted by the workers in Brazil, taking into account only the theoretical framework coming from a history of work that excels by the figure of the worker, class consciousness and ideological disputes. In this way, a reflection based on the tools of the History of the Present Time can bring other questions to the understanding of multiple work-related temporities, which are in vogue in the contemporary world.
