Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex condition that affects the lives and daily lives of people with this diagnosis, presenting challenges that impact inclusion in society, therefore, this article aims to analyze the challenges of legal protection in relation to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Brazil. Current legislation and its implementation and the obstacles faced by autistic people are highlighted. In addition, we seek to observe legislative changes, such as sanctioning the use of ribbon cords with sunflower designs to identify people with hidden disabilities, that is, it meets autistic people, however, some need to be identified challenges in the effective application of the Law, requiring constant commitment from institutions and society.
