Knowledge about sexuality and sexually transmitted diseases among the elderly varies, with many individuals forming opinions based on social prejudices, while others seek information on their own. The need to improve this knowledge is evident, as better understanding can prevent diseases and embarrassment. With the increase in the elderly population and life expectancy, the rate of elderly people with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) has increased. The lack of information is visible, since sexual education has been focused mainly on young people, leaving the elderly uninformed and at risk, and because of this, many do not recognize the risks. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and quantify the rates of AIDS diagnoses in the elderly. The analysis was based on data collected using the government platform DATASUS, in which data between the years 2013 and 2023 were collected, with elderly people aged 60 and over, and analyzing education, race, sexuality, and gender.
