Abstract

This study addresses how the advent of new technologies, in the most diverse areas of humanity, has emerged in new forms of service provision that adapt to these innovations. These work modalities align with the trend towards more flexible labor relations, challenging the bonds between workers and collaborators, often represented by digital platforms. Thus, it raises the following question: how can labor standards be streamlined to adapt to new technologies and modern labor relations? In this sense, this article seeks to analyze the new paradigms in the labor structure in the 21st century, influenced by new technologies, highlighting the influence of the historical evolution of employment relations and the Uberization process. Therefore, three specific objectives were listed for this research, namely: to contextualize and describe the phenomenon of Uberization; analyze the elements that characterize employment relationships and how such elements occur on the Uber platform; present the impacts of this new type of labor system on the current legal system. To achieve these objectives, the methodology used for this work was a bibliographic review, adopting a qualitative approach of a legal-exploratory nature, revisiting the need for an understanding established by law that defines the current situation of app drivers. Likewise, by using searches in magazines, articles, books, doctrines and the current legislation itself related to the theme of Uberization, it was demonstrated how labor relations have undergone transformations over time with the implementation of new technologies, directly influencing the emergence of the Uberization process, in addition to presenting the current jurisprudential understanding about the Uberization phenomenon.
