This article aims to discuss the importance of pasture management as an activity that promotes quality cattle production. Based on the above, the main objective was to highlight the impacts that the lack of correct pasture management can have on cattle production. To this end, the work was limited to analyzing the scenario of the extreme south of Bahia, evaluating the main problems found in pasture management and their direct impact on cattle farming, with a view to enhancing animal nutrition. From this point on, the work was divided into elucidating the concept of pasture management, the main characteristics of the regional ecosystem, detailing the main grasses used in the region and finally highlighting the influence that low-quality feeding can trigger on the production cycle of beef cattle. With all the required work, it is characterized by being descriptive and qualitative-quantitative through an analysis of information already mentioned by other authors. The aim is to present, with maximum precision, the facts and phenomena relevant to this theme. Based on this assumption, books, scientific articles and symposia were analyzed in order to reach the expected results.
