Results: For better assimilation of the data, the following thematic categories emerged: Nurses' performance during the monitoring of child growth and development; Assessment of the effects of educational actions on the growth and development of children; Adequate monitoring of child growth and development; Monitoring of child growth and development; Deviation in the development and growth of children. Final considerations: It is concluded that nursing care in monitoring child growth and development goes beyond the USF environment; it is characterized by the knowledge of professionals and parents on the subject, as well as the continuity of this care at other times in the individual's life. Therefore, the nurse and caregiver have a fundamental role in the development of children.
