Introduction: Childhood bruxism, characterized by teeth grinding, impacts children's sleep quality and health. It is associated with sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea, and early treatment is essential to improve children's well-being and prevent future complications. Objective: This review analyzes the relationship between bruxism and sleep disorders in children, explores associated factors and reviews therapeutic approaches, aiming to provide an overview of the evidence and suggest directions for interventions and future research. Methodology: The literature search covered databases such as PubMed, SciELO and Google Scholar, using terms such as "childhood bruxism" and "sleep disorders". Review articles, clinical studies and research on the prevalence of bruxism and its relationship with sleep disorders, as well as management strategies, were included. Results: The review revealed that the prevalence of bruxism in children varies between 15% and 30%. Approximately 40% of children with bruxism also have sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea. Studies indicate that interventions, such as dental devices and behavioral approaches, reduce the frequency of bruxism by up to 60%. Conclusion: Bruxism in children affects sleep and overall health. Early intervention is essential to improve quality of life. Future studies should investigate effective treatments and the underlying mechanisms.
