THE ROLE OF DERMATOFUNCTIONAL PHYSIOTHERAPY IN THE REHABILITATION OF DERMATOLOGICAL CHANGES IN OBESE PEOPLE

Introduction: Dermatofunctional physiotherapy rehabilitates the skin of obese people, treating dermatological changes and improving health and self-esteem through therapeutic approaches. This study investigated changes in the skin of obese individuals and evaluated the role of dermatofunctional physiotherapy in the rehabilitation of these patients. Materials and Methods: Articles published between 2016 to 2024, in Portuguese and English, from scientific databases such as PubMed; SciELO e Google Scholar; Research, Society and Development; Convergences Editorial; Revista Unipacto; Revista FT; ActaMed; Brazilian Journal of Health Review; Sustenere e Revista Ibero-Americana de Humanidades, Ciências e Educação were analyzed, using keywords such as "dermatofunctional physiotherapy," "obesity," "cellulite," "stretch marks," and "dermatitis." The research included reviews, clinical studies, and case reports that presented evidence on the effectiveness of interventions. Results: Treatments improve skin, reduce pain, promote drainage, increase elasticity, and enhance self-esteem in patients. Conclusion: It was concluded that the treatments improve the skin, reduce pain, promote lymphatic drainage, increase elasticity, and enhance patients' self-esteem.
