Introduction: Femur fractures in Brazil are common in the elderly population. This is directly linked to the population aging process and affects the individual's quality of life, such as loss of autonomy, functional dependence and social and economic problems. Physiotherapy in the post-operative period for femoral fracture is extremely important and necessary for these patients to relearn how to coordinate their static, dynamic and postural balance, such as weight transfer during walking, thus starting the gait cycle with minimal effort. energy and maximum body efficiency during movement. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of two muscle stretching techniques (ballistic and static) on the immediate gain in flexibility and improve muscle ROM. Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of the contract and relax technique in recovering the hip range of motion after femoral fracture. Methods: Integrative review of descriptive and analytical literature. This research work was a descriptive study, with the preparation of a bibliographic review and used the databases of the GOOGLE ACADÊMICO,, SCIELO, VHL platform. The languages used were English and Portuguese. In the period from 2014 to 2024. Results: After evaluating the articles and bibliographical survey, carrying out an analytical reading, the results are presented, thus leaving 8 articles that made up the final sample of this research. Conclusion: Dynamic stretching proved to be more beneficial in rehabilitation for the elderly, as it provides less discomfort and increases joint ROM when it comes to flexibility. The verified contribution can be considered important for carrying out ADLs.
