This article investigated the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and the increased incidence of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. An integrative literature review was conducted, analyzing studies published between 2020 and 2023 in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), United States National Library of Medicine (PubMed), and Web of Science databases. The results showed a significant increase in diagnoses of the syndrome, attributed both to the direct effects of SARS-CoV-2 infection and to the emotional stress caused by social isolation. The research highlights the need for a multidisciplinary approach in the diagnosis and treatment of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, considering the physiological and emotional aspects of patients.
