Coronary artery by pass grafting (CABG) is widely used to treath eart disease, especially in diseases with arterial obstruction. However, this procedure hás risks, respiratory complications and functional loss. The general aim of this study is to present important physiotherapeutic procedures to be used in the pre- and post-surgical treatment of CABG. The presentation of these procedures is essential to promote the saf and effective recovery of patients and reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with surgery. A literature review was carried out of scientific articles published between 2011 and 2022, selected from the MedLine, SciELO and PubMed databases. The analysis showed that cardiac rehabilitation hás been seen as essential in the rehabilitation of cardiovascular surgical patients, aiming too the best cardiovascular conditioning, providing a better quality ofl ife for the patient, both preoperative lyand post operatively, reducing surgical complications and aiding faster recovery.
