GRADUATES FROM THE ACCOUNTING SCIENCES COURSE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF ITAPIPOCA-CE: THE JOB MARKET SCENARIO FOR ACCOUNTING PROFESSIONALS

This study analyzes the job market scenario for graduates of the Accounting Sciences course in the City of Itapipoca/CE. The methodology used was of a qualitative and descriptive nature, carried out through the application of a questionnaire with 11 graduates of the accounting sciences course in the municipality of Itapipoca-CE, who are working in the job market in 2024. The data collected addresses aspects such as range age, academic background, difficulties faced in the job market and opportunities in the accounting area. The main results indicate that, according to the respondents, the majority of professionals got their first job in less than three months after completing their degree, although they face challenges, such as vacancies, the location of opportunities and the need for constant updating due to to changes in legislation. The private sector stood out as the biggest generator of opportunities, while accounting consultancy was less represented among those interviewed. It is concluded that, despite the difficulties, the job market in Itapipoca-CE offers space for qualified and specialized professionals. Constant training, whether through postgraduate courses, short courses or participation in events in the area, was identified as a crucial factor for the success and maintenance of competitiveness of accountants in the region.
