Abstract

This article takes stock of the importance that the judicial sources have grown in the last decades in the researches for Social History, especially involving subjects related to the world of work. From legal institutions and their modes of operation, to the history of workers' daily lives and their struggles for rights, as well as the varied conceptions surrounding laws, rights and justice, legal sources provide a rich material for the analysis of the historian. In addition, the article problematizes the question of the search in the judicial archives, especially of the labor accident processes, as a legal source that has juridical and legal specificities that must be taken into account by the researcher.
