The study aims to analyze the role of the pharmacist in guiding and supervising the use of herbal medicines for the treatment of depression and anxiety, highlighting their efficacy, safety and impact on patients' health. The research method is based on a bibliographic review of sources published between 2017 and 2024, including articles, theses, books and online sources, using databases such as Google Scholar and Web of Science. The bibliometric review was applied to identify relevant high-impact studies. Through the development, it was observed that the pharmacist plays a crucial role in promoting the safe use of herbal medicines, minimizing adverse effects and promoting natural alternatives for the treatment of these disorders. Their guidance is essential for adherence to treatment, improving the quality of life of patients and ensuring the appropriate use of these medicines. In addition, the pharmacist must educate patients about the correct dosage, possible drug interactions and contraindications, preventing risks associated with the inappropriate use of herbal medicines. The study concludes the importance of a multidisciplinary and integrated approach in mental health care, where the pharmacist acts as a mediator between scientific knowledge and clinical practice, contributing to the expansion of access to integrative and complementary therapies in health care. Therefore, the role of the pharmacist is essential to ensure that herbal treatments are used safely and effectively, meeting the individual needs of patients and promoting quality mental health.
