Fall prevention in older patients is a growing priority in geriatrics, given the high incidence and significant impacts of these falls on the health and quality of life of older adults. This study presents an integrative review of effective interventions for fall prevention in older adults, with the aim of compiling and analyzing the most recent evidence on strategies that have demonstrated success in reducing the risk of falls. Studies addressing physical exercise programs, environmental modifications, and medication management were included, identifying the most effective interventions and best practices. The review reveals that the combination of multifaceted approaches, integrating physical exercise, environmental modifications, and medication review, offers the most robust protection against falls. The analysis indicates that personalization of interventions and education of patients and caregivers are crucial factors for the success of preventive strategies. The evidence suggests that, although each strategy has shown effectiveness in isolation, implementing an integrated plan is essential to maximize the reduction of fall risk. The review recommends the adoption of combined approaches and the need for further research to develop standardized and effective protocols.
