This work aims to review the literature on the use of intraoral scanners in dentistry, exploring the types of scanners available on the market and the technologies used to capture images. An integrative literature review was carried out based on studies published between 2014 and 2024, using databases such as PubMed and SciELO. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 09 articles were included. The review identified different types of intraoral scanners and associated technologies, highlighting their contributions to improving dental diagnoses and treatments. The integration of complementary technologies, such as confocal microscopy and coherent optical tomography, in addition to specific innovations in models such as the iTero and Trios, highlight the potential of these devices to offer even more accurate and reliable results.
