This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of academic production on financial education in Brazilian public schools between 2020 and 2024. The problem is the growing need to prepare students for financial challenges, which requires a detailed understanding of the methodological approaches and results of academic research in the area of financial education. The objective of the study was to identify and analyze the predominant patterns in scientific production related to financial education in schools. Specifically, we sought to categorize academic works according to the year of publication and the institution linked to them. The study was motivated by the importance of understanding how financial education is addressed in schools and its impact on students' educational development. The analysis highlighted academic contributions and areas that require greater attention, providing a future basis for research and improvements in financial education. Therefore, a bibliometric analysis was carried out of the articles available in the CAPES database, with descriptors “school financial education”. The results revealed a diversity of works and significant participation of institutions, with emphasis on the Federal University of Itajubá and the Federal University of Juiz de Fora as the main contributors. The study identified strengths in scientific production and gaps to be explored in future research.
