Abstract

The use of active methodologies in education has gained prominence as an effective approach to teaching and learning, with Problem-Based Learning (PBL) standing out. This technique emphasizes student-centered learning, where solving real-world problems fosters the development of critical and creative skills. The general objective of this study is to explore the advantages of applying the PBL method in the educational context, emphasizing its impact on student engagement and understanding. The methodology adopted was bibliographic research, analyzing studies and publications relevant to understanding the practical and theoretical implications of PBL. The results indicate that PBL not only increases student interest and motivation but also promotes a deeper understanding of content, enhancing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Additionally, the approach fosters collaboration and effective communication, essential in today's world. In conclusion, the PBL method emerges as a powerful pedagogical strategy, providing a more dynamic, interactive, and relevant learning environment for students.
