Abstract

The article explores the relevance of cinema as a critical tool for analyzing and understanding legal systems, with a special focus on Maria Augusta Ramos's documentary "Justice." The film, which depicts the Brazilian penal system, is analyzed from an interdisciplinary perspective that integrates legal concepts, human emotions, and social criticism. The work highlights how cinema can not only document but also challenge established practices and norms in the legal field.
