The aging process has become a topic discussed worldwide due to its impacts on the economy and on the international scene. Senescence, which was previously a topic little discussed, has become the target of great attention in the public sphere, since the development of medicine and science has allowed an increase in life expectancy associated with health that was previously unimaginable. Faced with this reality, the Brazilian government created the Elderly Statute with the purpose of guaranteeing the maintenance of the rights of the elderly population, so that not only health is assured, but also access to Higher Education. This aroused the need for analysis and comparison between the aging process and access to higher education in the Brazilian scenario, since the increase in the number of elderly people has brought numerous social challenges. Therefore, this research aims to carry out data analysis on the DATASUS, IBGE, and INEP platforms, seeking to discriminate the true health situation and access for seniors to higher education in the Brazilian context.
