Syphilis is a systemic infectious disease, curable and exclusive to humans, it is caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum, it can be divided into three phases: primary syphilis, secondary syphilis and tertiary syphilis with Penicillin as the base medicine for cure. the work follows the critical essay model based on analyzes of the context of syphilis from the social perspective of scholar Luc Boltanks. Luc Boltanski brings in his works the body as a carrier of socio-economic-political determinations. These tangles of elements are correlated to the body in the process of becoming ill, as well as expressing the way in which the individual interprets the symptoms of the illness, the diagnosis, treatment and cure if it exists. Thus, based on Boltanski's light, users who have a lower socioeconomic perspective tend to be closer to infections such as Syphilis and have unequal treatments, communications, opportunities and experiences along the way. of health and life. Throughout this work it was possible to note that the Syphilis epidemic is in fact a growing problem and a current concern for public health, however, it is a problem that demands perspectives beyond the sphere of health and disease.
