Abstract

The General Data Protection Law – LGPD, brings data management standards, which triggered in mid-February 2022, ensuring the right to protection of personal data in the list of fundamental rights and guarantees in the constitutional text – CF/88. Therefore, the objective of this research is to demonstrate the adaptation strategies to the LGPD, used by accounting offices in the city of Palmas – TO. The research is characterized as exploratory and descriptive. The collection procedure was a questionnaire with 13 questions, made available online and in person, via email, Google Forms and an instant messaging application, with feedback from 58 companies, guaranteeing anonymity to participants. The results show that companies have a good level of aspects inherent to adapting to the LGPD, even if achieving legal requirements involves a long process, with difficulties to be overcome and strategies to be considered. In addition to preparation, they need to participate in ongoing training courses, transparency, procedures, means and governance methods that ensure commitment to safety and prevention.
