Renal clear cell carcinoma (RCCC) is a primary neoplasm of the kidneys and accounts for up to 75% of all cases of renal cell carcinomas. However, its occurrence in the prostate is a rare condition. Patients with this pathology are usually asymptomatic in the early stages, but it can progress to more advanced stages with metastases in the lungs, liver and bones. This histopathological finding in an extra-renal location as a primary tumor requires clinicopathological investigation. This systematic review article investigates the current literature on RCC in the prostate, addressing its clinical presentation, diagnosis, available therapies and prognosis. A search and study of a set of papers on the PubMed, Medline and VHL platforms was carried out, where studies published from 2015 onwards were selected, where eight documents were selected and only six used due to the established inclusion criteria. This study is of great relevance to the academic community, as it aims to bring together the clinical findings and therapeutic management of cases reported to date on clear cell carcinoma of the prostate.
