This document presents an analysis of Ostentation Funk and its relationship with various economic and sociological thinkers. The primary objective of this study was to investigate how ostentation in funk reflects and influences the economic and social dynamics within marginalized urban communities. To achieve this, the following detailed objectives were established: analyzing the manifestation of conspicuous consumption in light of Thorstein Veblen's theory, investigating how cultural and economic institutions influence the spread of vanity, exploring urban and digital spaces as commons in promoting the culture of appearances, and assessing the social and economic impact on marginalized communities. The methodology used included the analysis of relevant literature and the evaluation of data from secondary sources. The study's results indicated that prodigality serves as strategy for social and economic distinction and that institutions and digital platforms aid in its dissemination, concluding that it is a complex manifestation of power dynamics, identity, and resistance in contexts of inequality. The final considerations highlight the importance of continuing research in this area to enhance understanding and foster future advancements.
