Nephrolithiasis is a condition of high prevalence in Brazil and has multifactorial causes. Given this nature, conducting an epidemiological and metabolic investigation is essential to define an adequate clinical and surgical treatment and to prevent recurrences. The present work aims to quantitatively analyze the prevalence of hospitalizations and surgical treatment of adults with renal stones in the municipality of Cascavel, Paraná, from 2014 to 2024. This is a quantitative and retrospective study conducted in the municipality of Cascavel, with data obtained from DATASUS. In Cascavel, regarding hospitalizations for renal stones by the SUS, in the period from 2014 to 2024, there were 632 hospitalizations, 57.44% of which were composed of female patients. In the two surgical procedure modalities observed, Transureteroscopic Ureterolithotripsy predominated, which also proved to incur higher costs. The research highlights a higher frequency of the disease in women, emphasizing the importance of correct diagnosis and guidance on dietary measures. The study showed a clear preference for the surgical modality of Transureteroscopic Ureterolithotripsy.
