This study aims to analyze aspects of teaching careers and remuneration, verifying from which perspectives career plans have advanced and/or regressed. In order to achieve the proposed objective, an analysis of the career plans of the municipalities of Uruçuí and Cabeceiras do Piauí was carried out, as well as a documentary analysis of national and municipal legislation on the topic in question based on the theoretical framework constituted by: Cruz, Silva and Sousa (2021); Gatti and Barreto (2009); Dutra Júnior et al. (2000); Jacomini and Penna (2016) and Rolim and Guimarães (2022). To analyze career plans, aspects relating to the career and remuneration of teaching were addressed, highlighting the following categories: entry method and level of training required; working hours and definition of activity hours; career movement criteria; and components of teaching remuneration. In general, it was observed that, according to the analysis of the items that make up the teacher's remuneration, career plans were retroactive, for example, by incorporating some bonuses into the salary to comply with national legislation, which did not generate resources new ones to comply with the legal determination regarding the payment of the minimum wage. It was also found that the current Cabeceiras do Piauí plan does not comply with the legislation regarding the definition of working hours for extracurricular activities.
