THE USE OF COGNITIVE-BEHAVIORAL THERAPY TO HELP IN THE TREATMENT OF ANXIETY DISORDERS: A NATIONAL INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Anxiety disorders are one of the pathologies that have frequently increased in the world population. Among them, it is possible to mention panic disorder, specific phobia, social anxiety, separation anxiety and selective mutism. Objective: This study verified the effectiveness of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and the main approach techniques that help in the treatment of Anxiety Disorders, through a national integrative review. Methodology: 05 Brazilian articles were selected through the Lilacs, BVS, Pubmed, Scielo and Pepsic databases. Results: The effectiveness of CBT in helping to treat Anxiety Disorders was demonstrated and approach techniques such as social skills training, problem solving and psychoeducation were identified to help with treatment. Conclusion: CBT is effective in treating these disorders, but the development of more research and publications in the area is suggested.
