THE EFFECTIVENESS OF COMBINED THERAPY OF PELVIC PHYSIOTHERAPY AND THERAPY COGNITIVE-BEHAVIORAL IN THE TREATMENT OF ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION

In Brazil, erectile dysfunction (ED) affects 45% of the population over the age of 18 and 52% of men aged between 40 and 70 years. In addition to the aging process, other risk factors may be associated with organic and psychological factors. Therefore, there is a need for multidisciplinary treatment. And among so many treatment options, physiotherapy offers non-invasive methods, painless procedures, low cost and easy to perform. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of therapies used in pelvic physiotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy in the treatment of ED. Methodology: Bibliographic review study of the literature carried out in April 2024 through a search carried out in the following electronic databases: VHL; Scielo; Medline, Lilacs and PEDro. Articles were selected from 2013 to 2023. Result: 14 articles were chosen that corresponded with the objective of the study. Conclusion: Through a bibliographical review of the literature, the effectiveness of the therapies used in pelvic physiotherapy was proven.
