Abstract

Introduction: Tobacco use among adolescents is a worldwide problem, its consumption brings risks and health consequences. Objective: demonstrate the risks and incentives of tobacco refusal. Materials and Methods: This is an exploratory bibliographical review of smoking in adolescence, periodicals were selected between the years 2019 and 2023 and aims to carefully describe the risks and harms. Results: The introduction to smoking has started earlier and earlier, therefore it is necessary for nursing intervention to prevent smoking in a way that raises awareness and guides the risks of smoking. Conclusion: Studies show that the act of smoking in adolescence poses an imminent risk to health, harming its development, and it is essential that the nurse, as a health professional, provides humanized and educational assistance in order to help adolescents understand the harms of smoking. smoking habit.
