Bearing in mind the importance of the topic of parental alienation, this work aims to clarify what parental alienation is, which is a phenomenon that has been occurring for longer than one might imagine, and consists of the act that, generally after a break-up In marriage, one of the parents pits the child or minor for whom they are responsible against the other, causing the child or adolescent to take sides on one side and begin to see the other parent or guardian from the perspective of the alienator. In order to understand more about these characteristics, this work also discusses the concepts of filiation and parental alienation, motherhood/paternity and positive parenting, as well as the relationship between the rights of children and adolescents with the law of parental alienation. Finally, the work also shows the movement that currently seeks the repeal of the parental alienation law.
