Studies on parental alienation have emerged since the 1985s. It is a term used to describe a situation in which a parent, consciously or unconsciously, uses their child to attack the other parent. Given this theme, the present study sought to investigate the jurisprudence related to parental alienation in the state of Tocantins between the years 2019 and 2024. Considering the importance of protecting children's rights in judicial separation processes and the various biopsychosocial and psychological factors involved, a qualitative, descriptive and empirical methodological approach was used. The results highlighted the complexity of situations involving parental alienation, especially the crucial role of the multidisciplinary team in handling and investigating cases. This study contributes significantly to the understanding of family dynamics in divorce situations and to the development of appropriate studies and judicial practices to deal with these complex situations.
