Abstract

This postgraduate course completion work presented the damage of chemical dependency as a theme, providing opportunities for reflections on the aspects that lead young people to chemical dependency. The research was bibliographical, qualitative and exploratory in public domain sites and in available scientific and official databases that provided opportunities for reflections on the subject. The study had as general objective to know the damages of chemical dependency for youth, as well as for the relationships established in the context. The study made it possible to conclude that acting on the issue needs to understand that they are individuals who need special attention, because it is a being in formation, emotional complexities, where they are in development, who need care and attention to discover their potential, in addition to development occur in a healthy way.
