Abstract

Neuroscience is the study of the nervous system, including its structure, function, development, genetics, and its relationship to behavior and cognition. This discipline covers a wide range of research areas, from molecular and cellular biology to psychology and philosophy. Neuroscientists use a variety of techniques, such as neuroimaging, electrophysiology and molecular genetics, to investigate how the brain and nervous system function at different levels, from individual neurons to complex neural networks. The ultimate goal is to understand how the brain generates thought, emotions, behavior and perception, and how these functions can be altered in normal and pathological conditions in equine therapy.
