Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the most serious diseases that affects humans and is responsible for extremely high mortality rates worldwide. Well, there is a significant increase in carriers and the number of deaths increases every year. The world recognizes that diabetes takes many lives. This disease is complex and worrying and requires daily care. From this perspective, this pathology is characterized by an excessive increase in glucose in the patient's blood. Diabetic patients should be treated reasonably for better quality of life. This treatment, including medications and non-drug treatments provided by medical professionals, is vital to the health of people with diabetes. The results indicate that monitoring and pharmaceutical care for patients with diabetes are extremely important to guarantee the quality of life of these patients. An analysis of the articles found that pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments are crucial for the health of patients with diabetes, and that the most commonly used medication for type 2 diabetes is metformin. This is extremely important for diabetic patients, as pharmacists monitor and advise these patients on how to take their medications, store them and eat, thus preventing damage to their health.
