This study addressed the relevance of Peer Instruction (PI) in elementary and secondary education, a methodology that promoted collaborative learning and active participation of students. The problem was identified in the need to adapt pedagogical practices to technological and social changes, looking for methods that increase student participation. The general objective was to explore the implementation of IP, considering the integration of educational technologies and group formation strategies. Through the analysis of relevant literature, it was observed that PI could significantly improve students' engagement and understanding of the concepts studied. The research highlighted challenges such as training educators and adapting learning environments for the effective application of IP. Final considerations suggested that IP, supported by immersive technologies and appropriate group formation strategies, offered a significant response to contemporary educational challenges, enhancing the development of important skills in students. In this way, it was evident that the IP approach, by integrating technology and collaborative strategies, promoted an enriching educational experience, preparing students for the challenges of the contemporary world.
