Damages resulting from dam ruptures are quite significant and can lead to catastrophic events. Taking into account the inherent risk that such structures present, the main action to be taken is to avoid these events as much as possible or to predict the proportions they would take. Laws and plans have been established in order to ensure the safety of dams, as well as the bus downstream region, the adoption of measures management of ri s cos and emergency become essential in this scenario. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to carry out analyzes of dam ruptures in order to determine flood regions containing the depths of flooding and wave arrival times at each point in the affected areas, essential information for preparing an emergency action plan.To highlight the importance of these studies, this work brings breakage simulation of a small dam. The flood maps were generated by the HEC-RAS software from the topography extracted from a digital elevation model. The Despite the preliminary nature of the study and simulation performed, the impact generated in the region downstream from the dam, could be analyzed with greater clarity. From the propagation of the wave that the rupture of this dam would provide, it was possible to conclude and reflect on the importance of emergency plans in smaller dams, since the damages observed in this simulation were significant.
