Abstract

The article exemplifies and defines Chaplaincy and briefly demonstrates its history and evolution, and thus highlights its relationship with different religions in Brazil. Furthermore, it explores how Chaplaincy can be applied in the school context and promote interreligious discourse. Likewise, its relevance in the hospital, prison and social action contexts is described. Therefore, the research is built based on bibliographical research methodology, being a literature review, where academic texts are analyzed, such as articles, dissertations, books and other relevant sources on the subject, in addition, it also presents characteristics of document analysis. The work highlights the importance of Chaplaincy in mutual understanding between religious traditions in Brazilian society, particularly in educational, hospital and prison environments, with a view to assisting human beings, who seek peace with themselves and others.
