This research aimed to strategically analyze the Accounting Sciences course at Unir - Vilhena Campus, and identify, using the SWOT matrix, the strengths and weaknesses, its opportunities and threats and suggest, based on this analysis, how to improve it. Higher education is essential to prepare professionals capable of facing contemporary challenges, especially in the accounting area, where precision and adaptation to changes are crucial. The Accounting Sciences Course at UNIR - Vilhena Campus plays an essential role in this context, contributing to the economic development and efficiency of organizations. In light of educational and job market transformations, this research seeks to understand how the course can be strategically improved. The proposed strategic analysis aims to identify deficiencies, student expectations and strengths, to propose improvements aligned with market demands and the training of competent professionals. The research identified positive aspects and areas for improvement in the Accounting Sciences Course at UNIR - Vilhena Campus. The data collected allowed us to understand student expectations and provided valuable insights for course adjustments. The SWOT analysis highlighted points such as the quality of the teaching staff, but pointed to the need for improvements in theory-practice integration and institutional support. The results aim to drive improvements, aligning the course with market demands and student expectations, contributing to more effective training and the debate on strategic analysis in higher education.
