This scientific study investigates the effects of including gender and race themes in the Early Childhood Education curriculum in Bauru, São Paulo, aiming to understand how this incorporation influences the organization of teaching and contributes to the citizenship formation of students. The main objective is to understand how the inclusion of these themes affects the structure of teaching and its impact on student training, recognizing the curriculum as a reflection of the society project. Using a qualitative approach, with bibliographic analysis, the study seeks to provide a deeper understanding of the inclusion of the categories of Gender and Race in the Early Childhood Education curriculum in Bauru, São Paulo. Furthermore, it is based on the theoretical contextualization of the Curriculum, according to the authors Sacristán (2013; 2017) and Schubert (1986). The analysis of the existing curriculum and the identification of gaps in the approach to gender and race highlight the need for sensitive and inclusive curriculum revisions, with the aim of promoting reflection on diversity, identity and respect from childhood. The possible impacts of this inclusion in reducing stereotypes and prejudices, promoting equality and social justice, and training conscientious individuals committed to building a more equitable society are also discussed. The conclusions highlight the importance of a school engaged in promoting diversity and inclusion, in addition to pointing to future research directions on the topic.
