This dissertation-based study explores the evolution of access to justice in the context of technological innovations, emphasizing the increasing role of Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platforms. This article examines how the Judiciary, entering the realm of public policies, has adopted ODR as an important mechanism for dispute resolution. The text addresses definitions and considerations regarding ODR, emphasizing its emergence, evolution, and impact in Brazil, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. When examining alternative dispute resolution methods (ADR), the study points out the growing relevance of ODRs, both first and second-generation, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI). Platforms such as SmartSettle are examples of these innovations, providing analytical tools to facilitate negotiations and make more informed decisions. Despite the benefits of ODRs, particularly those supported by AI, equal access to justice faces challenges such as digital illiteracy and limitations in technological access and understanding among the population. Regulation is seen as crucial to ensure transparency, security, and justice for all involved.
